Activities Philosophy and Goals

The activities offered by the Chichester School District is an integral part of the total education program.  Therefore we extend the privilege of participating in extra circular activities to all students who are able to meet the standards established by our district.  Participation in these activities provides an opportunity for students to gain valuable experiences, which will contribute toward physical growth and development, healthy living habits, high moral standards, school citizenship and sportsmanship.  Everyone involved in extra curricular activities should have a sincere belief in the value of the activity and be willing to spend time and effort necessary to influence in a positive way the lives we come in contact with.

With this philosophy in mind, it will be our goal to teach student to understand the importance of the following:

1)      Developing good sportsmanship.

2)      Dedicating themselves to a set of beliefs and goals.

3)      Developing the values of teamwork, pride, and commitment.

4)      Accepting discipline from authority and developing self-discipline.

5)      Associating and working with others towards a common goal.

6)      Learning to deal with success as well as failure.

7)      Achieving to their full potential.

8)      Healthy living habits.

9)      Developing leadership skills.

10)  Accepting responsibility.
